Meet the visionary leaders driving Bembani Group’s sustainable growth and global success.
With about three decades of excellence and unrelenting contribution towards ensuring environmental sustainability, I am honoured to have led a team of environmental and social scientists, economists, and engineers from various disciplines to significant participation in shaping the global economy and social cohesion. We have made a positive impact towards ensuring that sustainable development goals and aspirations are achieved.
At Bembani Group, we strive to secure tomorrow by empowering people, protecting the natural environment, and growing the economy.
My vision for the group has evolved over the past two decades from a purely environmental sustainability focus to addressing people, the planet, and profit. Through the years, the group has expanded its reach to cover wastewater treatment technologies, renewable energy and energy efficiency, waste management technologies, agribusiness development, mining, and hydrogen technology as a fuel source.
There are several existential threats that we need to address to ensure our continued existence on earth. Whilst many of these have been acknowledged and written about by the elite group that constitutes the World Economic Forum, there is a need to redesign our society to ensure that they are meaningfully addressed. This societal redesign will not be achieved by merely highlighting our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments in annual reports or ratifying a new United Nations agreement for environmental protection, but by ensuring that meaningful work is undertaken to support social change.
Foremost in our strategic focus is Climate Change, and how as a group we can help government, business, and society implement climate change adaptation and mitigation measures. We have done this before and continue to make our contributions, but there is room to do more and better!
Six of the top 10 global risks identified by the World Economic Forum relate to climate change adaptation, mitigation, and natural resource availability and management. This confirms what we have known for many years and heightens the need for concrete climate actions from all pillars of our society.
We have had a wide range of clientele, from multinational corporations to local governments. I must acknowledge and show our gratitude to all our clients and partners, who by far have been very supportive of our sustainability endeavour.
Our prediction of the future through scenario planning has not always been accurate. We now acknowledge that the best way to predict the future is to create it. Join me in creating a greener future.
